The Victoria Derby is one of the most prestigious races on the Australian horse racing calendar and this year’s edition looks set to be a cracker.
There are a number of talented runners in the field, including Spring Champion Stakes winner Sharp’N’Smart, The Vase winner Berkeley Square and Caulfield Classic winner Mr Maestro.
Damian Lane will be back in the saddle for Mr Maestro and will be looking to repeat his victory in last year’s Victoria Derby. Sharp’N’Smart, Berkeley Square and Pericles are all seen as genuine threats to Mr Maestro’s chances, but at the current odds they represent good value for money.
