Sydney v GWS Preview, SCG

The first two games promise to be epic, but the Sydney derby shapes as the best of the lot.
The Swans (second) and Giants (third) have built a genuine rivalry over the last decade, with
the underdog often triumphing in these matches. Even without captain Toby Greene
(suspension) and star defender Sam Taylor, GWS made light work of the Brisbane Lions in
Canberra on Anzac Day. Greene, who has relished playing the Swans during his career, and
Taylor will both return for Saturday’s blockbuster. In Sydney’s 75-point smashing of Hawthorn
last Sunday, Isaac Heeney continued his prolific start to the season with another
best-on-ground performance. The Harbour City rivals have already met three times in finals
(2016, 2018 and 2021) – could there be a fourth meeting this September?
