Race 5 – Listed TATTERSALL’S GOLD CROWN (2143 METRES)

#4 Princess Rhaenys

She rates clear and looks mighty hard to beat returning to Eagle Farm where she broke the track record only 3 weeks ago. Tony Gollan has suggested that this particular race has been the set plan all along and there is no reason why she can’t win again with Blake Shinn going on from barrier 1.

Race 8 – G1 Tattersall’s Tiara F&M WFA – 1400m

#2 Semana

The stablemate of BELLA NIPOTINA, who is clearly the best horse in the race, however I think she represents outstanding value and was one of the big winners at the barrier draw. Raced wide and was off the track in the Stradbroke and is a proven 2nd up performer.

Caulfield

Race 1 – 2YO Hcp – 1000m

#1 Blue Renegade

Fit horse who’s been racing well over the short course. I like the form around, turning the tables on INTEREST POINT and beating home EARTH GOD who has since franked the form.

Race 4 – BM78 Handicap – 2000m

#13 Torranzino

Looks awfully well placed stepping up to 2000m at this stage of the preparation. Clocked the 2nd FL200m of the day at Swan Hill (1600m) LS and both career wins have come at this trip, one of them at Caulfield. Mick Dee will get an economical run from the draw and I suspect he will be hard to hold out.

Race 10 – Open Hcp – 1440m

#6 Chorlton Lane

I’ve got a high opinion of this 4YO Gelding for Ciaron Maher and I think he’s a black type winner in waiting. LS he won here over 1400m and that race rated well, finishing -9.4L inside BM. Has since been let-up for 8 weeks, drops 6kg on the last start win and has been kept up to the mark with a very nice 1000m trial between runs.
